Medicaid, CHIP, and Health Reform Webinar: Option and Opportunities for Florida Children’s Oral Health
Insurance coverages for children’s dental services has been an integral part of the public insurance programs since 1965. Even now, it is part of Congress’ Healthcare Reform deliberations and oversight investigations. Yet three quarters of covered children in Florida don’t make it to the dentist in a year and Florida’s performance is one of the lowest in the country. This broad-ranging webinar highlights the dental coverage features of Medicaid and CHIP (aka MediKids in FL) and provides an update on current Congressional action on children’s oral health care.
Dr. Edelstein is the presenter for this webinar. He is a pediatric dentist and founding chair of the Children’s Dental Health Project in Washington DC. The Children’s Dental Health Project is a nonprofit agency committed to improving children’s access to oral health through advances in federal and state policies. In this presentation, Dr. Edelstein will highlight the dental coverage features of Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program. Dr. Edelstein will also provide an update on current Congressional action on children’s oral health care.
